Permanent Exterior Lighting Installation in Mechanicville

We mount slim LED track along your roofline so the lights stay up year-round and almost disappear by day. You set warm white for every evening or color for the holidays from an app, and nobody climbs a ladder again each fall.

Lighting that stays up and stays quiet

Permanent lighting is a run of individually addressable LED pixels set inside a narrow aluminum channel. The channel fastens under the drip edge or along the fascia and is finished in a color close to your trim, so from the street you see the roofline, not the hardware.

It suits you if you are tired of hanging holiday strings, want soft light for evenings at home, or simply want better curb appeal after dark. Everything runs from an app-controlled box near an outdoor outlet or inside the garage.

Care for the house runs through the whole job. We plan the layout with you before anyone climbs, keep ladders off your shrubs and garden beds, and explain each step so you are never wondering what is happening outside.

What the installation includes

  1. 01

    A layout walk with you

We walk the home exterior together and agree on which rooflines, peaks and corners get light. We also choose where the controller and power connection will sit.

  2. 02

    Trim-matched channel

The track comes in several finishes. We hold samples against your fascia and pick the closest match so it reads as part of the trim in daylight.

  3. 03

    Careful mounting

Channel is fastened to the fascia or under the drip edge with stainless screws. Nothing goes through your shingles, and we keep clear of the gutters so they drain and can be serviced as usual.

  4. 04

    Wiring kept out of sight

Jumpers between roof sections are tucked behind trim or run along corners. The single lead down to power is kept tight to the siding.

  5. 05

    Controller and app handoff

The controller joins your home Wi-Fi during the visit. We save a handful of evening and holiday scenes, then walk you through building schedules, so the lights behave the way you want from the first night.

Signs permanent lighting is the right fit

  • Holiday lights come down broken

Clips snap, strands fail in the cold, and the ladder comes out twice a year. A fixed system ends that routine.

  • The house disappears after dark

If the front of your home goes black at dusk, a soft line along the roof brings back shape and curb appeal without floodlight glare.

  • You want light without the clutter

Some homeowners like the idea of roof lighting but dislike visible bulbs and cords. A trim-colored channel solves that.

  • You change colors often

Holidays, birthdays, game nights. App control lets you switch in a few taps instead of buying new strings.

How the day goes

  1. 1

    Arrival and protection

We go over the plan with you, then lay mats where ladders meet the lawn and use standoffs so ladders never rest on gutters. Beds and plantings stay roped off from foot traffic.

  2. 2

    Measuring and mounting

We measure each run, cut channel to length, and fasten it level along the fascia. Corners and peaks are mitered so the line looks continuous from the street.

  3. 3

    Lights and power

LED strips are seated in the channel, sections are joined, and the lead is brought down to the controller. We test every section before moving on.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough and cleanup

We show you the lights at dusk if timing allows, set up the app with you, and pick up every offcut, screw and wrapper from the yard and driveway.

What moves the price

Every home is measured and priced on its own, and you get the number by phone before any work is scheduled. The main drivers are how much roofline you want lit and how hard it is to reach.

Length of roofline
The total feet of channel and LEDs is the largest single factor. Lighting only the front costs less than wrapping the whole house.
Height and roof shape
Two-story walls, steep gables and many peaks or corners take more time, more cuts and more ladder setups.
Power location
A nearby outdoor outlet or garage outlet keeps things simple. If a new outlet is needed, we tell you up front so it is planned, not a surprise.
Fascia condition
Soft or rotted fascia has to be sound before track can be fastened to it. We point out any problem boards during the quote.

Common questions about permanent lights

Will installing the lights damage my roof?

No screw ever goes through a shingle. The channel is fastened to wood or aluminum fascia or under the drip edge, which is built to hold fasteners. If you ever remove the system, the small holes are easy to fill and paint.

How does it hold up to snow and ice?

The LEDs are sealed, and the channel sits tight to the trim below where snow piles up on the roof. It is built for upstate snow and hard freezes, so there is nothing to take down in the fall.

Can you see the track during the day?

Hardly. Its finish matches your trim, so from the street it looks like part of the fascia. Most neighbors only notice it at night with the lights on.

How long will the installation take?

Many single-family homes are finished in one visit, including app setup and a walk through how it works. Larger or taller homes can take longer, and your quote says what to expect.

Do I need to be home?

It helps if you are around at the start to approve the layout and at the end to set up the app. In between we work outside and only need access to the outlet and your Wi-Fi details.

What can I do with the app?

Pick any color, switch scenes, dim the lights and set schedules that follow sunset. Holiday chase and twinkle patterns are built in, and plain warm white handles everyday evenings.
